Network Engineer

Job Description

Position Overview:

Golestan Business Group is seeking a skilled network engineer to join our Network and Communication team. The network engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure, including data center technologies. This role involves planning, implementing, and overseeing networking solutions to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in routing, switching, and managing complex network environments, with a strong focus on data center Nexus devices and technologies.

Responsibilities:

Network Implementation and Administration:

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and data center networks.
• Configure and optimize routers, switches, and other network devices to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement and manage Cisco Nexus switches, Virtual Port Channels (VPC), and FabricPath for data center environments.
• Manage network access control and security policies to safeguard organizational data.

Change Management:

• Plan, evaluate, and implement changes to the network infrastructure with minimal disruption to operations.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies during configuration and update processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate network changes seamlessly.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, particularly in data center environments, to minimize downtime.
• Provide tier-3 escalation support for network-related incidents.
• Analyze network performance data and implement solutions to prevent future issues.

Documentation:

• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, topologies, and operational procedures, including data center-specific designs.
• Record and track changes in the network environment for audit and reference purposes.

Technology Evaluation and Upgrades:

• Research and recommend new technologies to enhance network efficiency and reliability, particularly in data centers.

Skills and Requirements:

• 5+ years in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise and data center environments.
• Proficient in CCNA and CCNP Route and Switch topics and Familiar with CCNA Data Center concepts and implementing security mechanisms at the Enterprise Data Center level.
• Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
• Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus devices and technologies, including NX-OS, vPC, and FabricPath.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2/3 networks in data centers.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking hardware (Cisco, Mikrotik, etc).
• Familiarity with data center operations, including high-availability designs and disaster recovery.
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc).
• Knowledge of MPLS, and VPN solutions.
• Experience with monitoring platforms (Zabbix, PRTG).
