Job Description

  • Participate in setting departmental strategic goals and develop interdepartmental policies and procedures:
  1. Generation of maps, depositional facies interpretation, and well cross sections.
  2. Generate structural and fault models.
  3. Strong log correlation skill in a fluvial environment, resulting in fine-scale correlations and detailed “full-field” mapping of depositional & reservoir quality/quantity trends.
  4. Revise reservoir maps and calculate deterministic OOIP.
  5. Review and make the well geological design report.
  6. Provide the technological support for the well test design.
  7. Perform reservoir static model studies to aid concerned management in making decisions regarding the development of the field, predicting future production, planning for additional wells, and evaluating alternative reservoir management scenarios.
  8. Perform all departmental initiatives, processes, and activities in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives and take corrective actions when necessary.
  9. Support the Reservoir Geological Management Section Head in preparing the departmental Work Program & Budget (WPB).
  10. Support the geological management section head in preparing long-term forecasts, annual development strategies, and production plans and programs.
  11. Ensure auditing & reporting requirements of the department are properly observed and met.
  12. Analyze mud and drill cuttings.
  13. Chart pressure, temperature, and other characteristics of wells or bore holes.
  14. Investigate and collect information leading to the possible discovery of new petroleum or gas deposits.
  15. Ensure full compliance of department activities with HSE regulations and policies, and be well-trained about his/her role in the company's emergency response plan.
  16. Act as department contract holder by the SIPC Iran contract management policy and procedure, if applicable.
  17. Be responsive to internal or external auditing practices.
  18. Control financial data.
  19. Review and approve subcontractor invoices if applicable.
  20. Adhere to human resource policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • English is the official language of the company.
  • Four-year bachelor's degree in the relevant engineering field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the same field with a proven track record.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of geological engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and performing operational activities.
  • Communication: to adjust the tone and style according to the audience, comprehend and act efficiently on instructions, and explain complex issues to colleagues and clients alike.
  • Teamwork: to have the intuition and interpersonal acumen to know when to be a listener, and to be perceptive, as well as receptive to the needs and responsibilities of others.
  • Flexibility: to demonstrate an ability and willingness to acquire new hard skills, and an open-mindedness to new tasks and new challenges, to show a willing and upbeat attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time management: to think clearly and to have the capacity to compartmentalize and set stress aside within tight deadlines.
