Job Description
The objective of the role:
The Foreign and Local procurement specialist, under the direction of the procurement manager, is a member of the supply chain team in the procurement department responsible for purchasing projects goods/logistics services and delivering the goods to the right location on time, by locating key suppliers/forwarders and negotiating purchasing agreements with them to get higher quality goods/services at the lowest prices possible.
Responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate new suppliers/logistic companies/insurance companies/inspection companies based on price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history, to develop the supply chain and stay up to date on industry new suppliers.
- Get technical/financial proposals from manufacturers/suppliers/forwarders based on received requisitions and negotiate with them effectively for the best proposal.
- Analyze price proposals based on financial and other data and information with the cooperation of the technical team to determine reasonable prices and select the best supplier.
- Support procurement manager in evaluating and negotiating suppliers’ contracts.
- Draft contract terms and conditions and purchase orders.
- Plan and coordinate all activities of custom clearance.
- Monitor and follow up on logistic affairs including shipment and delivery, outside and inside the country, with logistic companies to ensure proper shipment delivery.
- Prepare documents for import licenses.
- Handle all necessary documentation from proforma invoices to shipping documents and logistics.
- Document procurement documents and maintain records.
- Prepare daily reports.
- Ensure compliance with all related laws and regulations.
- Report to the procurement manager.
- Probation period: 3 Months.
- Working hours: Saturday to Tuesday from 8 am to 5 pm; Wednesday from 8 am to 4 pm.
- Travel requirements: Occasional within the country.
