Job Description

Role Summary:

The Head of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth, market share, and profitability. This role leads the sales department, oversees regional or product-based teams, and ensures that sales operations align with the company’s overall business objectives. The Head of Sales acts as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic input on pricing, marketing, and product positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.

• Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.

• Identify new market opportunities and drive business expansion.

• Contribute to overall business planning and strategy formulation.

Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve performance targets.

• Establish clear sales targets, KPIs, and incentive structures.

• Build a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture.

• Recruit, train, and develop sales professionals.

Sales Operations & Execution:

• Manage sales budgets, pipelines, and forecasts accurately.

• Implement sales processes, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency.

• Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment.

• Negotiate and close key deals with strategic clients and partners.

Customer & Market Insights:

• Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

• Gather and analyze customer and competitor insights to inform strategy.

• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.

Performance & Reporting:

• Track and report on sales performance metrics to senior leadership.

• Identify underperforming areas and implement corrective actions.

• Prepare regular sales forecasts and business reports.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Experience

• 8–15 years of progressive sales experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.

• Experience in managing large sales teams and multi-region operations.

• Industry experience relevant to the organization (e.g., tech, FMCG, manufacturing, etc.).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management abilities.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Strategic thinker with analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in CRM and sales analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Power BI).

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, target-driven environments.

• Fluent in English.

Requirements

Proven work experience as a secretary or administrative assistant.Excellent time management and organization skills, especially the ability to prioritize and multitask.Effective and professional communication abilities, including being able to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients or guests.Professional writing capabilities, including emails, memos, letters, and other industry-related reports, documents, and correspondence.Project management skills, like goal-setting, budget management, and planning.Great customer service and interpersonal skills.Good computer skills, including basic troubleshooting skills.Familiarity with word processing software for creating and contributing to spreadsheets drafting and sharing documents, and creating engaging and informative presentationsIn-depth understanding of the industry or office they work in.High school diploma.
