
Job Description
Position Summary:
The role involves the full responsibility of market intelligence (geography, crops, potentials, customers, competitors), direct responsibility of the budget with given accounts, developing plans to improve the Go-to-Market, a complete view of the Product development plans.
The focus is on achieving sales growth, feed/grow strong customer relationships, and contributing to product development and marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Achievement of budget of sales (from order placement to collection of receivables)
2- Market intelligence (Crop Potentials, Analysis by Region/by Variety/By Competitors, Segmentation of End User Customers)
3- Technical Support (Customers, Direct and Indirect, Trial plans, Collection and interpretation of Trial results)
4- Elaboration of proposals to improve:
a. Country and Crop Marketing plans
b. Promotional Plans
c. Trial plans
d. Market Share and Market Coverage.
Market Intelligence:
- Analyze and report annually on market potential changes by Crop and by Country to guide long-term strategies.
- Provide insights on competition tactics, organization, pricing, and policies as significant changes occur.
- Monthly analysis of direct customer performance (sales, stocks, market share, and share of wallet, sales forecasts for current year).
- A special attention must be paid to key indirect customers, analyzing their needs and potentials, supporting the creation of demand securing an adequate promotion, technical support and customer attention.
Sales:
- Review monthly sales forecasts of given direct customers for the current and following year, highlighting opportunities and risks.
- Regularly visit direct customers, process orders, and monitor deliveries with customer service teams.
- Develop and execute via our distribution channels promotional and trial activities, supported by product development specialists.
- Strategically plan and implement mid- and long-term tactics for growth.
- Monitor and review direct customer sales, stocks, and future order requirements monthly.
Business Planning & Coordination:
- Contribute to the Crop and to the Country Marketing Plan.
- Propose variety elevation and variety registration plans for approval by regional crop leads.
- Collaborate on country and crop marketing plans with area customer marketing and regional crop leads.
- Build and maintain networks with key stakeholders (e.g., agriculture ministries, seed companies, grower associations, sub-distributors, key influencers).
- Foster an international network for knowledge, development and growth.
Requirements
1- Specific education (university) in Agriculture
2- Experience in the Vegetable Seed Industry (min 3 years preferably in direct sales)
3- Sales Skills (creating relationships, listening, analyzing, develop solutions, creativity, knowledge of the business process, presentation of products, communication skills, capacity to understand hidden needs, etc.)
4- Analytical Skills (search, organization, analysis, elaboration and use of data for decision making).
5- Leadership (integrity, clarity, competencies, fairness)
6- Ambition (capacity to set ambitious targets and to fight for their achievement)
7- Hard Working
8- Ability to travel within the country (30-50 percent of time depending on seasonality)
9- Location can be remote, should enable quick access to airports when needed.
