Job Description

The Senior Manager, Retention Marketing owns the customer lifecycle at Boomerang. He/she will be held accountable for aggressively growing repeat purchase rates and the lifetime value of Boomerang’s customers. They are responsible for constant innovation of Boomerang’s customer nurture strategy, defining the right touchpoints and tactics to engage active and lapsed customers, including on-site engagement, email, SMS, direct mail, and package inserts; they are responsible for measurement of those tactics, providing a feedback loop to internal stakeholders and leadership. The ideal person in this role is able to think strategically about long-term projects and program vision, while hitting and exceeding short term goals. The Retention Marketing Manager is also responsible for managing junior level employees, making sure they execute on strategies effectively while coaching and mentoring them in their career growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Own all aspects of the customer life cycle strategy while defining and optimizing KPI's such as repeat purchase rate and lifetime value. Analyze the customer journey, identifying key touch points in the customer's interaction with the brand to optimize customer activation and retention. Ownership of email marketing, SMS marketing, direct mail, and package inserts. Has expert knowledge of technologies and best practices across channels, while staying on top of current trends. Continually research and test new ways to engage customers and advocate internally for changes in systems, technologies and processes to drive better performance. Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, customer service and creative teams to manage projects to completion. Control retention and promotion spending to maximize return on investments. Work with junior team members to track and report on effectiveness of campaigns, analyzing KPI's and customer behavior, and develop next steps that move the life-cycle strategy and business forward.

Requirements

5+ years of marketing experience required, including expert knowledge of marketing campaign management tools, SMS platforms and comfortable with platform integrations. Outstanding problem solving, multitasking and analytical skills. Strong Excel skills required. Highly effective working cross-functionally, especially with technical teams. Demonstrated success articulating and advancing product requirements. Comfortable working in a startup environment, with its fast pace, shifting priorities and fluid nature. Management in eCommerce or retail industry experience is a plus.
