About the Company:
- A well-established shipping company operating in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean is seeking to hire an Operations Manager for its Iran office (based in Tehran). The role requires frequent business travel to the UAE and close coordination with regional and international partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and supervise all operational processes related to maritime logistics and shipping.
- Lead and manage operational teams and vessel crews to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Coordinate vessel deployment and scheduling to maximize fleet utilization.
- Resolve operational challenges and provide effective, timely solutions.
- Collaborate with commercial and technical departments to align operations with client requirements.
- Prepare performance and operational reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, maritime security regulations, and international shipping conventions.
- Manage communication and relationships with port authorities, agents, and regulatory bodies across multiple countries.
- Oversee vessel documentation, certification, and compliance with classification and flag state requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in maritime operations, shipping companies, or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of import/export, transit processes, transport documentation, international contracts, and NVOCC operations.
- Experience handling bulk carriers and container vessels.
- Proficiency in fleet management systems and shipping operation software.
- Strong leadership and team management skills; organized, detail-oriented, and accountable.
- Familiarity with international maritime and logistics regulations.
- Ability to analyze operational data and recommend process improvements.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken), with proven experience in dealing with port authorities and international clients.
- Minimum age: 35 years.
- Willingness to travel abroad frequently.
- Previous experience in international shipping and logistics companies is considered an advantage.
