Job Description
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers after taking relevant approvals.
- Respond to suppliers about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
- Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
- Calculate costs of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Commerce, or Business.
- At least 5 years of experience as a purchasing officer or a purchasing assistant.
- Previous experience in buying solvents, packing materials, and lab equipment is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software.
