Job Description

The laboratory manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the laboratory and its technical team. The laboratory manager will be ensuring all services are being completed to 17025 standards and will be directly responsible for a variety of chemical, mechanical, and analytical tests on a diverse range of products also need to ensure the laboratory maintains its ISO 17025 accreditation and the successful individual will need to have a strong background within this area.

  • Ensure the effectiveness of the quality management system and compliance with ISO17025 accreditation.
  • Oversee tests done on raw materials and packaging to ensure
  • standard quality.
  • Oversee tests on finished products (chemical, physical, and microbial) to ensure standard compatibility.
  • Arrange for calibration of lab equipment and ensure their sound performance
  • Answer customer complaints.
  • Oversee tests in the production line.
  • Set up analysis methods and carry out the validation procedures.
  • Ensure the lab establishes and maintains a calibration program for testing equipment that affects quality results.
  • Manage reporting, monitoring, resources, and laboratory personnel.
  • Modifies Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or a Ph.D. in Food Industry.
  • A deep understanding of ISO/IEC 17025.
  • 10 years of managing laboratory or quality control in food manufacturing companies.
  • Knowledge of GHP and HACCP.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Teamworking skills.
  • Good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics.
