Role summary: The Grants Officer will contribute to achieving quality and effective grants management systems by closely supporting the Head of Programmes and Grants Manager with maintaining and constantly upgrading NRC Iran internal grants management systems and tools. S/he ensures NRC programme/support teams, as well as external stakeholders (e.g. auditors), have access to up-to-date grants-related files and information in soft and hard copies. S/he is the focal point for maintaining NRC’s grants management tools and for information management of NRC’s Iran Filing Tree. The Grants Officer will also be the focal point for maintaining up-to-date Implementing Partners records in relation to assessments and agreements and for tracking new and existing partnerships, in collaboration with relevant partnership staff. Last, but not least, the Grants Officer support grant management-related tasks, including report and proposal writing, PCM meetings, in the development of necessary documents and/or tools as required. Generic responsibilities: ● Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines. ● Implement delegated grants portfolio according to a plan of action. ● Prepare and develop status reports as required by management. ● Ensure proper filing of documents and keeps update relevant grant tools. ● Promote and share ideas for technical improvement. ● Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards and principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC. ● Promote the rights of refugees and displaced in line with the advocacy strategy ● Ensure that key learnings are extracted from operations regarding protection, and incorporate them into program strategy and staff development processes. Specific responsibilities: ● Ensure all key grant documents are available in soft and hard copies by maintaining a high-quality information management/filing system and updating NRC’s grants management systems on a daily basis. ● Support NRC Iran country-wide Information Management system by checking that all departments are effectively using Office 365 and NRC filing tree, to store and share information as required, by providing a technical help-desk for internal staff, and by quality checking the data saved. ● Take the lead in coordinating, collecting necessary information, drafting and submitting all multi-area/multi-competency reports follow donors’ requirements at a high-quality standard, including review by HO as relevant; ● Support the Grants Manager (and the Head of Programme) with the organization of and/or participate in PCM meetings, taking minutes and share relevant action points; ● Support the Grants Manager (and the Head of Programme) with the coordination and drafting of proposals, annexes, modification requests and other documents as delegated; ● Maintain accurate records of all implementing partners files (assessments and agreements) and tracking systems, in coordination with the relevant staff ● Update and maintain NRC Iran external contact list, coordination table and external visits calendar. ● Support the Grants Manager and Head of Programme with the organisation of donors visits and other external events as required. ● Provide direct grant support to Area Offices as required. ● Support and liaise with the Communications and Advocacy department.

Requirements

Generic professional competencies: ● Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context. ● Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. ● Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. ● Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Specific professional competencies: ● Ability to use the Logical Framework Approach as a tool in project/program design and follow-up. ● Knowledge of rules and regulations of key donors like NMFA, SIDA, EU, is an asset. ● Good understanding of budgets and some financial monitoring skills. ● Attention to detail, a good understanding of processes, and the ability to follow instructions ● Relevant university degree or higher education, preferably in International Relations and/or Development, Social Sciences or Management. ● Proficiency with software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Behavioral competencies: ● Planning and delivering results. ● Communicating with impact and respect. ● Analyzing skills. ● Working with people.
