Job Description

● Follow company and automotive industry standards and use best practices in product definition based on governmental standards, regulations, and rules for new and existing products. ● Provide expertise including defining features, attributes, and specifications of whole commercial and passenger vehicles and related systems/parts. ● Collaborate with market analysis staff to perform car clinic and customer feedback. ● Work within the manufacturing engineering automotive team to support other designers, vehicle/system suppliers, to support purchasing staff, and other operational support as necessary. ● Provide main specifications of vehicles and related systems including Powertrain, Chassis, Safety, and ADAS. ● Provide validation and homologation test plans for samples. ● Collaborate with the manufacturing team to provide quality control documents and end-of-line tests. ● Lead Conformity of Product (CoP) testing activities based on standards and regulations. ● Provide and monitor IPI (Itemize Price Indices) and appropriate guidance for localization. ● Ensure achievement of safety, quality, cost, and targets for products. ● Provide updates of the metric-based projects to the management team, regularly.

Requirements

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical fields. ● At least 2 years of experience in an engineering role related to the body, paint, and assembly manufacturing equipment and process. ● Knowledgeable in high and low-volume manufacturing skills and concepts (cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, equipment selection, return on investment, etc.). ● Ability to work independently to develop a plan to execute deliverables with general guidance. ● Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross-functional disciplines, including with external stakeholders. ● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. ● Experienced in working within 2D, and 3D CAD environments. ● Fluent in the Microsoft Office Suite. ● Able to work seamlessly with site supervisors to interface and coordinate between manufacturing engineering staff and facilities designers to deliver required outputs on time and at the desired quality.
