Job Description
As a medical advisor at Orchid Pharmed, you will be a key scientific expert responsible for bridging the gap between clinical evidence and practical application, both internally and externally.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Developing Scientific Strategy:
- Contributing to the formulation and execution of robust medical affairs strategies and annual medical plans for assigned products, ensuring alignment with the overall brand and company objectives.
Building Scientific Partnerships:
- Establishing and nurturing credible, peer-to-peer scientific relationships with Key Opinion.
- Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals in relevant therapeutic areas to gather insights and facilitate scientific exchange.
Providing Internal Scientific Expertise:
- Acting as a reliable scientific resource for internal teams, including Marketing, Sales, Business Development, and Production.
This involves:
- Providing scientific input for strategic planning and product lifecycle management.
- Delivering scientific training and updates on disease areas, company products, and relevant
- competitors to internal teams.
- Responding to scientific inquiries from internal colleagues.
Ensuring Scientific Accuracy & Compliance:
- Reviewing and approving promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure their scientific accuracy and compliance with internal policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant regulations.
Staying Abreast of Scientific Developments:
- Continuously monitoring and critically evaluating the latest scientific literature, clinical trial data, and treatment guidelines to maintain deep expertise in relevant therapeutic areas and identify emerging trends.
Scientific Communication & Presentation:
- Developing and delivering clear, accurate, and engaging scientific presentations at internal meetings, advisory boards, scientific congresses, and other relevant forums.
Supporting External Engagement:
- Representing the company at scientific meetings and potentially accompanying sales/marketing teams on visits to healthcare professionals to provide scientific support and address medical questions.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
- A professional doctorate (MD or PharmD).
Professional Experience:
- At least 2 years of dedicated experience specifically as a Medical Advisor within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of four or more individuals/professionals.
Scientific Acumen:
- Possessing deep scientific knowledge and the ability to evaluate and synthesize complex scientific data critically.
Knowledge or Experience in One or More of the Following:
Therapeutic areas are highly desirable:
- Diabetes and Cardiometabolic;
- Supplements;
- Nephrology;
- Dermocosmetic;
- Autoimmune and Osteoporosis;
- Infertility;
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Proven ability to effectively build and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and scientific societies.
Communication & Presentation:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present complex scientific information clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences.
Industry Knowledge:
- A solid understanding of the pharmaceutical market dynamics, healthcare ecosystem, and medical affairs strategies.
Language Proficiency:
- Full professional fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
Collaboration & Autonomy:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a valued member of a cross-functional team.
Planning & Organization:
- Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
