About the Role

We are seeking a commercially driven BNPL Business Manager to lead the strategic growth and operational execution of our client's Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) business line within the FMCG sector. The role will drive merchant acquisition, build strategic partnerships with suppliers and distributors, and scale the BNPL offering across traditional and digital trade channels.
This role is ideal for a business development leader with deep experience in FMCG, fintech, or digital payments, who combines strategic partnership development with hands-on execution skill to deliver measurable growth.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Growth
• Develop and execute the business plan aligned with revenue targets and market expansion goals.
• Identify new growth opportunities across traditional trade and modern retail ecosystems.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to inform strategy.

Partnership & Supplier Management
• Build and manage relationships with FMCG manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and channel partners.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and partnership agreements.

Merchant Acquisition & Ecosystem Expansion
• Drive BNPL expansion across traditional trade channels and digital marketplaces.
• Develop field enablement programs and incentive models for supplier sales teams.

Regulatory & Banking Relations
• Establish and maintain relationships with banks, payment service providers, and regulatory authorities.
• Liaise with compliance and legal teams to ensure full adherence to financial regulations and

consumer protection laws.
• Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory consultations.

Operational Performance
• Oversee merchant onboarding, collections, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with product, risk, credit, and finance teams to improve approval rates and portfolio quality.

Financial Performance
• Own and deliver revenue, portfolio quality, and profitability KPIs.
• Prepare regular business performance reports for leadership.

What You Bring
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial growth, preferably in FMCG, fintech, or digital payments.
• Proven track record in B2B sales, partnership management, or channel development.
• Deep understanding of FMCG route-to-market, retail dynamics, and credit behavior.
• Strong understanding of BNPL, consumer credit, or digital payments landscape.
• Strong networking skill in building relationships with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skill in managing and developing teams.
• Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
