Job Description
The role of a Purchasing Expert is to manage and monitor all plant supplier issues in line with purchasing policy, to improve Quality Cost and Delivery (QCD) performance, and to anticipate the specific requirements for new programs (supplier technologies, geographical location, and target costs), to ensure the commodity panel strategy, to select and pilot suppliers from the agreed supplier panel in order to achieve plant objectives.
Responsibilities:
● Ensure a high level of supplier quality performance.
● Define opportunities for cost reduction, validate them with commodity teams and implement them.
● Work closely with the supply chain team to support supplier deviation.
● Involved in the supplier selection and kick-off in the program phase to prepare the start of production.
● Maintain plant vendor list updated.
● Nonproduction purchasing: apply plant purchasing policy/contracts and negotiate specific local requirements.
● Supplier list management: ensure supplier performance follow-up, PPA follow-up.
● Ensure and monitor in-house and external supplier productivity.
● Set up action plans to achieve monthly targets.
● Manage specific mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.
● Negotiate engineering change requests.
● Research and identify prospective suppliers.
● Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
● Prepare contracts and issue purchase orders and agreements.
● Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
