Job Description

● Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e. perform as a nurse, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience. ● Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures and supervise his/her team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her specialty. ● Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance, and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality. ● Carry out and/or supervise the (decentralized) pharmacy (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.) in his or her department (clinic & mobile clinic) in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness. ● Ensure that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. ● Ensure that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. ● Report any malfunction to the project biomedical service, in the clinic and mobile clinic. ● Carry out and/or coordinate administrative (exit-paper, transfer-paper, etc.), information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking. ● Give feedback/ reports to a medical focal point. ● Plan, organize, provide support, guidance and evaluate the activities concerning the nursing room, triage, laboratory, drug dispensary, and outreach, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care in a safe and secure environment for patients and colleagues ● Ensure good professional practices: supervision. ● Participate in to spread of information. ● Ensure vigilance with respect to medical secrecy and shared secrecy. ● Daily management of the team consequently to the flow of patients: in the clinic and mobile clinic (visiting mobile clinic from time to time). ● Ensure quality of care during all procedures performed in nursing room, according to MSF guidelines. ● Ensure quality of care during triage activities, according to MSF guidelines ● Contribute to the activities concerning his/her field of action (clinic and mobile clinic) to maintain and support the day to day implementation of IPC standard precautions and providing technical supervision for nursing team. ● With his/her manager ensure an efficient follow up of consumption for drugs and medical consumables in the clinic and mobile clinic as well: supervise procedures for orders, inventory, reception and all tasks related to pharmacy (control expiry dates, maintenance of the emergency box, etc.). ● Ensure quality nursing care and dispensation during mobile clinic and outreach activities. ● Cover nurses’ gaps if necessary. ● With his/her manager, identify needs of training and provide technical support to her/his team as needed: for example, deal with specific population, communication with patients, confidentiality, traceability on patients’ files. ● Concerned about interdisciplinarity specific to the project. ● Collaboration with the head of the hygiene team. ● Collaboration with ID focal point. ● Report any dysfunction and needs. ● Ensures individual reviews of each member of the teams. ● Monthly reports about nurses' activities (data), challenges, achievements, and objectives.
