Job Description

The IT PMO plays a crucial role in overseeing and improving the project management processes and methodologies within the organization. They provide leadership, guidance, and support to project managers and teams to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects and alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Governance: Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure projects are initiated, planned, executed, and closed in a consistent and structured manner.
  • Methodology and Best Practices: Define and enforce project management methodologies, standards, and best practices, ensuring they are followed across all IT projects.
  • Resource Allocation: Work with IT leaders to allocate resources effectively, balancing workloads and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Project Tracking and Reporting: Implement tools and systems for tracking project progress, producing regular status reports, and identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project performance, and use data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management, providing transparency and alignment with project goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with organizational policies and industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and work with project managers to develop and execute risk mitigation strategies.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships and contracts related to IT projects, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and contract terms.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to project managers and teams to enhance project management skills and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (a Master's degree is a plus).
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in IT PMO roles.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
