We are seeking a reliable and hands-on IT Manager to oversee the day-to-day technology operations and network infrastructure. In the fast-paced environment of engineering and construction, the stability of our networks and systems is critical to keeping teams connected and projects on schedule. This role is ideal for a hands-on manager who is comfortable leading a technical team, managing network infrastructure, and ensuring that our hardware and software systems run without interruption.
The IT Manager will be responsible for maintaining our core network environment, providing technical support to engineering teams, and ensuring that our site and office connectivity remains robust and secure.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure Operations
Manage and maintain the company’s enterprise network, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connectivity across office and project site locations.
Oversee server maintenance, backups, and system health checks to ensure 24/7 uptime for critical project workflows.
Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and hardware issues promptly to minimize downtime for engineering and procurement staff.
System Support & Maintenance
Administer and maintain internal systems, including user access control, Active Directory, and office communication tools.
Provide technical support for core EPC software (e.g., ensuring stable access to CAD, Primavera, or Document Management systems) by coordinating with software vendors.
Ensure that endpoint security, antivirus, and software updates are deployed consistently across all workstations and servers.
IT Procurement & Inventory Management
Manage IT hardware inventory (laptops, servers, networking equipment) and coordinate procurement when necessary.
Oversee relationships with ISPs and technical service providers to maintain cost-effective and reliable connectivity.
Monitor the IT departmental budget for operational expenses and hardware maintenance.
Team Supervision
Lead and mentor a small team of IT support staff or technicians.
Prioritize daily support tasks and helpdesk tickets to ensure a high level of responsiveness to internal project teams.
Document technical procedures and provide training to end-users on basic system usage and cybersecurity best practices.
What You Bring
Strong hands-on experience in network administration (configuring firewalls, switches, VPNs) and server management.
Proven track record in a middle-management or senior technical role.
Experience with maintaining IT infrastructure in multi-site or project-based environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving technical issues under pressure.
Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments, network security, and backup solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating technical solutions to non-technical staff and leading a support team effectively.
