Job Description

● Responsible for technical/engineering delivery of proposals/tenders for all assigned tenders. ● Prepare technical submittals as per bid/tender requirements which include (but are not limited to) methods, plans, organization, implementation strategies, specialized method statements and commissioning plants, etc. ● Provide a preliminary project summary for management evaluation. ● Perform basic engineering calculations. ● Prepare/raise pre-tender queries etc and coordinate with owner department /client for clarification. ● Develop alternative technical proposals as and where required. ● Identification and detailed quantification of the requirement of resources Knowledge of in-depth engineering processes. ● Technical analysis of engineering problems. ● Preparation of non-critical engineering design documents. ● Must have a demonstrable ability to provide top-class engineering deliverables, as directed by the Project Study lead, without constant supervision, as per company technical competency standards. ● Coordinate with specialist disciplines viz. engineering, contracts, planning, construction, project management, etc. for relevant data for quantity estimation specific requirements. ● Coordinate with other departments in obtaining specialist advice and input into the discipline-related sections of the estimate as required. ● Coordinate with the Procurement Department to collect information about market prices for suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment based on previously executed projects. ● Prepare and check the Bills of Quantities as required. ● Prepare material and subcontract inquiries. ● Produce cost estimates for his Discipline parts of the works. ● Produce proposals regarding work methods and equipment to be used including scheduling. ● Assist the Lead Planner in the preparation of the tender schedule. ● Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data and maintain estimation records for future tender and cost evaluations. ● Prepare comparison Sheet for rates Quoted by Sub Contractors and suppliers ● Prepare quantity survey for lump sum projects or items. ● Prepare specific reports/database of relevant information, specification, construction material, etc. in respect of works items as well as usage trends. ● Coordinate, prepare and compile bid submission documents in relation to tendering/bidding activities, tender questionnaires, and pre-qualifications. ● Undertake short and long-term business travel in support of studies, projects, and site services. ● Involve in all post-tender activities till contract award including (but not limited to) attendance at meeting with clients /consultants, clarification of post-tender queries, techno-commercial negotiation, etc. ● Review design drawings prepare workshop drawing after award. ● Review coordination of drawing with other activates and departments. ● Assist in solving any technical problems that appear in the project during project execution. ● Analyze and communicate to the projects team options for the most effective means and methods of construction. ● Support projects and procurement departments for technical compliance of the materials with the specifications of the required contract. ● Monitor and manage all technical and commercial matters such as extra work items, change orders, amendments, discussions, and negotiations arising from both tender submission and awarded contracts. ● Perform change order estimating and assists the project manager or company representative in change order negotiations. ● Assist in managing and reviewing the project progress, i.e., planned vs. actual. Review of project schedule, coordinating and monitoring the assigned project. progress, and challenge the below-par performance of the contractor. ● Verify the project schedule milestones of his discipline. ● Perform other tasks as assigned by the management.
