
Job Description
• To lead cross-functional initiatives in department to proactively prevent fraud and implement changes that can better detect and/or deter future fraud activities. • To coordinate with internal and external auditors and with Group Revenue Assurance and Fraud teams to provide required information. • To plan, direct, coordinate and support such other revenue assurance activities as may be directed by Senior Manager - Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management. • To manage the team and activities in order to meet fraud reduction targets set by the business and MTN Group. • To research, propose the management and implement industry best practices for fraud prevention and detection. • To develop and establish internal fraud detection processes and systems, the measurement methodology of fraud controls also documentation of current / future fraud procedures processes. • To develop, maintain and document subscriber fraud process. • To develop an awareness framework of the subscriber’s fraud team and obtain business buy in to methodologies and strategy. • To develop predictive business intelligence models for more accurate forecasts on data mining, fraud systems. • To develop a centralized information reporting framework including providing insights into the information by developing cross-functional relationships. • To contribute the management in development of short and long term strategy for the fraud and business intelligence function in MTNIrancell. • To manage development and implementation of measurable fraud prevention controls. • To take ownership of the fraud management system, identify and deliver business case and requirements for future system integration and change, also modify business rules in the fraud management system so as to enable prompt identification of genuine alarms for further investigation. • To take ownership of delivering key analysis to senior management as regular weekly reports and a dashboard to provide more real-time analysis. • To report activity plans and key observations to Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management Steering committee and Measurement and Reporting management team, also assist in smooth functioning of its activities. • To present prepared reports on fraud levels and leakages to RA SM and Fraud and Measurement and Reporting Management team. • To lead data analysis and data mining initiatives so as to provide a more accurate picture of past events and predict future events related to fraud. • To undertake quality checks of fraud cases to ensure they comply with legal requirements and locally adopted procedures. • To initiate and facilitate anti – fraud projects within MTNIrancell. • To manage fraud, business intelligence and such other revenue assurance activities (only as directed by Senior Manager - Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management) related to budget and delivery, operational staff, giving support, guidance and coaching as necessary.
Requirements
Education • B.Sc. in IT, Software, Industrial, Telecommunication Engineering Experience • Minimum 5 years of experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising/ managing analytical staff • Telecom domain experience – especially experience in an operational and/ or policy experience • Experience working in a medium to large organization
