Position Intro
As a food safety manager, you will support the factory to produce safe, compliant, and first-time right products and minimize losses through food safety systems coordination and improvement, coaching, and verification. Work with the Quality Manager in reviewing and planning quality improvements across the factory.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Contribute as a member of the factory Quality Assurance team and develop the competency of other members of the team.
- Deliver quality objectives such as complaints reduction, foreign body reduction, and First Time Right (FTR) improvements.
- Ensure quality measures are reported and actions are taken to drive improvement.
- Quality Mastership:
- Drive the food safety strategy for the site, with a focus on foreign body elimination and pathogen management.
- Support the Nestle Continuous Excellence program as a member of a pillar(s), in the quest for zero defects.
- Carry out continuous improvement activities using EDPS (Everyday Problem Solving).
Capability Build:
- Contribute to the development of food safety and hygiene competence within the quality team.
- Coordinate training of food safety and hygiene awareness across the factory (including induction training and contractor training).
- Coordinate employee engagement and communication activities for food safety and hygiene.
Food Safety Management:
- Coordinate management of food safety pre-requisites across the factory and update the HACCP pre-requisite study. This includes leadership of hygiene zoning, manual cleaning methodology, allergen management, and other related requirements.
- Support the factory in hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
- Manage the pathogen monitoring program for the factory and coordinate the follow-up of out-of-specification results.
- Coordinate validation activities for food safety (CCP validation, cleaning validation, foreign body detector validation, etc.).
- Manage the pest control activities for the site and support the team to reduce pest-related issues and consumer complaints.
Compliance Management and Verification:
- Coordinate activities to achieve compliance with the FSSC 22000 (Food Safety) and other applicable standards.
- Coordinate the update of factory quality systems including HACCP and ensure that related QMS and ERP master data updates are carried out.
- Support the review of food safety management through the Food Safety team.
- Support factory readiness for internal and external audits.
- Carry out internal and external audits as required (e.g., for the factory internal audit program, Raw and Packaging suppliers, Factory facilities, etc.).
- Act as the quality adviser for key factory changes and projects to ensure that all food safety requirements are considered.
Quality Incidents and Consumer Complaints - Management and Prevention:
- Act as challenger and support for microbiological and food safety incidents including support for corrective actions and closeout.
- Support investigation of IMS complaints and consumer complaints including support for corrective actions and closeout.
- Share learnings internally and with other factories.
