Job Description
The Economic and Cultural Affairs Assistant and Translator is primarily responsible for: - Helping to provide and gather information (from open sources) about topics in the field of economic (and financial) policy and drafting (short) texts / analyses about those topics. - Carrying out cultural and economic projects under the guidance of the Head of the Political, Economic, Press and Cultural Affairs (PEPC-)Department and the responsible expat policy officer within this Department. - Making sure that files are complete and in good order and that up to date overviews of financial commitments are maintained. - Providing for written or oral translations when asked. - Providing logistical and clerical support (office manager tasks), which includes answering questions by letter, telephone and e-mail and organizing small (e.g. cultural) events. - Building up and maintaining a network of contacts in the fields of economics (including private sector) and culture.
Requirements
Requirements (education, skills & competencies): - University degree in the field of (macro-) economics and/or business administration. - 3-5 years of relevant working experience. - Interest in topics related to economics (including energy policy and trade), politics and culture. - Well-developed writing skills in both Farsi and English. - Ability to translate from Farsi into English and vice versa. - Good presentation and communication skills (both in Farsi & English). - Pro-active team player. - networking skills. - Knowledge of secretarial and administrative matters and good command of Microsoft Office tools. - Integrity - Knowledge of the Dutch language will be considered an extra asset.
