Job Description

We are seeking a purification specialist to work in the downstream department of R&D. The successful candidate should be familiar with a variety of basic protein purification and characterization techniques (buffer preparation, column chromatography, filtration, various analytical methods, and standard protein quantitation assays). Previous experience in the AKTA platform is highly recommended. It is essential that the candidate is self-motivated, productive, and has an excellent computer and scientific problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills are needed. Familiarity with cGMP and other regulatory requirements preferred.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Protein chemistry or related fields in protein science • 1-2 years related experience in protein purification • Skilled in performing assays such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, UV-Spectroscopy, affinity, IEX, HIC, Mixed-mode, and Size-exclusion chromatography. • Working knowledge and practical experience with AKTA systems • Experience in column packing and chromatography (HIC, IEX, Affinity) • Experience in operation and maintenance of tangential flow filtration devices, UF/DF operations, and aseptic filtration • Proficiency in technical writing of SOPs • Detail-oriented, collaborative and can work effectively alongside a motivated team in order to achieve company goals
