Job Description

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for materials, welding, and corrosion management, aligning with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams on material selection, welding procedures, and corrosion prevention strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of materials, welding, and corrosion-related projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments related to materials, welding, and corrosion issues, and develop mitigation plans to address identified risks.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes for welding operations, inspection procedures, and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, including NACE, ASME, AWS, and API, in all materials, welding, and corrosion-related activities.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers in materials science, welding engineering, and corrosion management, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and third-party vendors to address materials, welding, and corrosion-related challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to materials, welding procedures, corrosion assessments, and project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in material selection, corrosion prevention, and damage mechanisms in Oil and Gas projects.
  • Familiarity with corrosion modeling and simulation software.
  • Experience with various welding processes and welding metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, API, and NACE.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience in inspection, quality assurance, and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Proficiency in materials specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to staying updated with advancements in the field.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
