Job Description

● Provide design expertise including process description, design/review, and coordinate work as part of a team. ● Work within the manufacturing engineering automotive process team to support other designers, foreign suppliers, and contractors and deliver technical expertise for the purpose of supporting production lines implementation and also vehicle assembly equipment commissioning and launch, and other operational support as necessary. ● Responsible for executing high-quality results on a compressed delivery timeline ● Lead commissioning activities on the plant for a new production line of equipment. ● Collaborate with design and implement body, paint, trim manufacturing processes, and equipment to grow production capacity in line with corporate goals. ● Partner with production engineers and leaders to ensure a successful ramp and long-term production. ● Provide product feedback to other engineering teams to ensure manufacturability without compromising product function or performance. ● Ensure achievement of safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets on all projects. ● Provide regular, metric-based project updates to the management team. ● Follow company and automotive industry standards and best practices in project implementation.

Requirements

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical fields. ● At least 2 years of experience in an engineering role related to the body, paint, and assembly manufacturing equipment and process. ● Knowledgeable in high and low-volume manufacturing skills and concepts (cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, equipment selection, return on investment, etc.). ● Ability to work independently to develop a plan to execute deliverables with general guidance. ● Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross-functional disciplines, including with external stakeholders. ● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. ● Experienced in working within 2D, and 3D CAD environments. ● Fluent in the Microsoft Office Suite. ● Able to work seamlessly with site supervisors to interface and coordinate between manufacturing engineering staff and facilities designers to deliver required outputs on time and at the desired quality.
