Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Marketing function and ensure effective implementation of marketing strategies in alignment with the company’s business objectives and overall Pharma Operations strategy.
• Develop annual and strategic marketing plans for assigned pharmaceutical products, including objectives, priorities, target segments, positioning, key messages, and action plans.
• Develop and manage product strategies throughout the product life cycle, from pre-launch and launch to growth, maturity, and optimization.
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including market size, growth trends, treatment patterns, customer needs, market dynamics, and business opportunities.
• Conduct competitor analysis covering competing products, pricing, market positioning, competitive advantages, promotional strategies, and market share.
• Develop and execute product launch plans, including launch strategy, positioning, forecasting, promotional plans, cross-functional readiness, and post-launch evaluation.
• Develop and implement integrated marketing and promotional plans across appropriate channels, including scientific, digital, field, event, and other relevant activities.
• Work closely with the Sales and Medical/Scientific teams to translate marketing strategies into effective field execution and maximize commercial impact.
• Monitor product performance and key business indicators, including sales, market share, market growth, ROI, campaign effectiveness, and other relevant KPIs; identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and present periodic management reports and business reviews covering market performance, product performance, marketing activities, opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.
• Identify new market opportunities, unmet market needs, and potential product opportunities and provide recommendations for portfolio expansion and business development.
• Lead branding and brand development activities, including brand positioning, architecture, value proposition, communication strategy, and brand equity development.
• Develop and manage marketing budgets and ensure effective allocation of resources based on business priorities and expected return on investment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Medical/Scientific, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Research & Development, Production, Finance, and other relevant functions to ensure successful execution of product and business plans.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate the Marketing team, establish clear objectives and KPIs, and develop team capabilities.
• Select, brief, manage, and evaluate external marketing agencies, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure that all marketing, promotional, communication, and branding activities comply with applicable pharmaceutical laws, regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Pharma Operations and provide strategic recommendations on marketing, portfolio, and market development priorities.
• Perform other duties and strategic projects assigned by the Vice President of Pharma Operations.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical marketing, product management, or a related commercial function.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial or team-lead position, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Marketing, Management, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, MBA, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, product management, market development, and commercial strategy.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical markets, customer segments, treatment pathways, and industry dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans and product strategies.
• Strong capabilities in market research, competitor analysis, market sizing, segmentation, targeting, positioning, and opportunity assessment.
• Strong understanding of product life-cycle management and pharmaceutical product launch excellence.
• Familiarity with branding, brand strategy, customer journey, promotional strategy, and integrated marketing communications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, market share, market growth, ROI, and marketing KPIs and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with business intelligence or market data tools is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of pharmaceutical advertising, promotional, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
• Strong budget management and resource allocation capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
• Strong project management, prioritization, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
