
Job Description
Experience Required: 3 – 5 years in marine operations & logistics, both container and bulk cargo
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate marine freight operations for the company’s product lines (origin to destination).
Negotiate freight contracts, insurance, terminal and warehouse services; select forwarders, vessel, tanker or cargo tonnage.
Manage shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Manifests) and ensure compliance with contracts.
Monitor loading and discharge operations in ports, manage demurrage and penalty costs.
Record and report logistics costs (terminal, warehouse, inland transport, sea freight) and present periodic reports to the desk manager.
Collaborate with supply, sales and central office teams to ensure product supply and timely delivery to customers.
Analyse logistics process inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, cost reductions and increased operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with international and local maritime, port and terminal regulations.
Skills & Requirements:
3 – 5 years’ hands-on experience in marine freight operations (container & bulk).
Good understanding of port operations, terminal discharge/loading, demurrage, and logistics cost structuring.
Proficient with logistics or ERP software, strong Excel skills, cost-reporting ability.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with forwarders, vessel operators and terminal services.
Commercial mindset with ability to analyse costs and suggest optimisation.
