Job Description
• Identify and assess future and current training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, annual performance appraisals and/or consultation with managers.
• Offer specific training programs to help employees maintain or improve job skills
• Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not achieved
• Negotiate contracts with contracting party concerning desired training outcomes, fees and expenses
• Coordinate the registration or probable relocation of participants in classes
• Schedule classes based on availability of classrooms, equipment, and instructors
• Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts
• Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and course materials such as handouts and visual materials
• Devise programs to develop executive potential among employees in lower-level positions
• Monitor, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness
• Supervise instructors, evaluate instructor performance, and refer instructors to classes for skill development
• Evaluate external trends and development in Talent Management
• Controlling the training and development budget
