About INTERSOS:

INTERSOS is a humanitarian organization on the front line of emergencies, bringing assistance to victims of armed conflicts, natural disasters, and extreme exclusion with particular attention to the protection of the most vulnerable people. Since 1992 our humanitarian workers have been helping people affected by humanitarian crises: we provide first aid, food, shelter, medical assistance, and basic goods. We ensure that basic needs, such as education, access to clean water, and health assistance are met.

INTERSOS in Iran:

Following the Taliban retaking power in Afghanistan in August 2021, which has created a sudden high influx of Afghan nationals in Iran, INTERSOS decided to assess opportunities to establish its presence in Iran. INTERSOS obtained approval from the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to establish its presence in Tehran - Iran in November 2021 and started conducting its joint activities in June 2022. INTERSOS activities in Iran mainly focus on the health/medical sector and how to support the existing health system in coping with the high number of new refugees and its impacts on local Iranians. In addition, some social activities around people with disabilities and children were linked to medical activities.

Responsibilities:

• Provides his/her vehicle (car) for fulfilling his/her duties.
• Drives for INTERSOS international and national staff.
• Drives Head of Mission from home to office and office to home daily.
• Meets official personnel and guests at the airport and facilitates their arrival in Iran (within/out of working hours).
• Collects and delivers mail or documents to banks, local authorities, and partners.
• Take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle ensuring its full and satisfactory functioning according to INTERSOS rules & regulations.
• Ensures that the vehicle is kept neat and clean (interior and exterior) all the time;
• Keeps due records of the use of the vehicle and its maintenance by INTERSOS rules and regulations by filling out the INTERSOS log book.
• When necessary, translate into the local language for the official personnel using the car (from English).
• Replacement of driver during his/her leaves upon INTERSOS approval and the driver skill test acceptance.
• Undertakes missions to other cities in case of requirement and has no limitations with traveling (within/out of working hours – and under INTERSOS rules and regulations).
• Keeps abreast of traffic and road and security and safety awareness to enable safe and on-time arrival for meetings.

• Duty station: the driver will be based in the INTERSOS office and may be asked to work out of Tehran upon prior notice.
• Working hours: Sundays to Thursdays from 8 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Out of working hours: airport (twice a month)
• Missions to other cities (two days in a month) in case, accommodation and food will be provided by INTERSOS.
