Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute to the operational aspects of our organization. As a part of our DevOps team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of platforms and tools. Your role will involve enhancing system reliability, security, and developer productivity while improving the overall developer experience.

Responsibilities:

Gather and analyze metrics from systems and applications to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
Participate in system design consultations, platform management, and capacity planning.
Implement automation and uplifts to create sustainable systems and services.
Strike a balance between feature development speed and reliability, keeping service-level objectives in mind.
Install, configure, test, and maintain complex technical systems and architectures.
Implement security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Develop simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alarms (commonly using Ansible, Bash, and Python).
Provide second and third-level support.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, or JavaScript.
Familiarity with distributed storage technologies such as Ceph, and Amazon S3, as well as dynamic resource management frameworks like Kubernetes.
A proactive approach to problem-solving, performance optimization, and identifying areas for improvement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-learning capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills across cross-functional groups.
Optional (preferred): experience with Linux, virtualization, containers, and cloud technologies.
Optional (preferred): knowledge of Cybersecurity and Networking.

Additionally, the following skills and experiences would be beneficial:

Strong awareness of web application infrastructure.
Advanced knowledge of best practices related to data encryption and cybersecurity.
Ability to ensure smooth software deployment through Continuous integration and Deployment systems.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems, fault tolerance, and debugging.
Proficiency in databases such as MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
Experience managing Linux-based infrastructure.
