Job Description

Objective of the role: Under the supervision of the Resource Mobilization Officer NOB and with the overall guidance of the Representative, the Partnerships Officer NOA will support the development and management of Pillar 3 (non-financial partnerships) of the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization (PRM) strategy. The Partnerships Officer NOA is specifically responsible for supporting the management of a programme consisting of three inter-linked initiatives: (a) CSR capacity building; (b) innovations; and (c) child-friendly cities. - Provides effective and timely professional assistance and support in developing, managing and monitoring a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) capacity building initiative in collaboration with the Iran Chamber of Commerce and other Iranian Chambers of Commerce and leading businesses as relevant. - Provides effective and timely professional assistance and support in developing, managing and monitoring a national innovation platform for children with the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology together with various private sector partners, academia and other stakeholders. - Provides effective and timely professional assistance and support in developing, managing and monitoring a child-friendly cities initiative with the Ministry of Interior, Municipal Chambers of Commerce, business leaders, and other stakeholders. - Collaborates with partners to carry out a rigorous and transparent approach to evaluation in consultation with other key UNICEF staff and partners to improve the efficiency and quality of programme delivery. Participates in annual review meetings with partners and contributes to the preparation of annual programme status reports in a timely manner, as required. - Supports the supervisor in monitoring the allocation and disbursement of programme funds, making sure that funds are properly coordinated, monitored and liquidated. Takes appropriate recommendations or actions to optimize use of programme funds. - Performs other duties as required. As most functions are carried out with substantial independence in the organization of priorities and work methods, the incumbent is required to take pro-active initiatives in the application of guidelines and in deciding on some sensitive protocol matters. The type of functioning of this post and its decisions will have significant impacts on the planning and the image of the office.

Requirements

- A university degree is required in in one of the following areas: Business, Marketing, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, or other relevant disciplines. - A minimum of three years of professional work experience with the public and private sector with a focus on corporate social responsibility required. - Fluency in English and Farsi (written and spoken)is required. - Technical knowledge to be acquired/enhanced: Rights-based and results-based approach and programming in UNICEF; UNICEF programme policy, procedures and guidelines; UNICEF Strategic Plan. Methodology of programme/project management; UNICEF programmatic goals, visions, positions, policies and strategies; knowledge of global human rights issues, specifically relating to children and women, and the current UNCEF position and approaches; UNICEF policies and strategy to address on national and international issues, particularly relating to conflicts, natural disasters, and recovery; UNICEF emergency programme policies, goals, strategies and approaches; gender equality and diversity awareness. - Other requirements: Knowledge of and experience with developing and managing social innovations and child-friendly cities initiatives are assets. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in an international and multicultural environment. Pro-active attitude and pleasant disposition.
