Job Description
IP Planning Engineer delivers detailed IP planning to in order to produce network plans for Nokia networks 2G and 3G mobile infrastructure solutions. The individual will directly support our customers while ensuring that the planning activities are met on time with the required deliverables and quality in continuously changing environment. Competence development and transfer are essential parts of the task as well as guiding planning partners and Nokia own planners. Role: • Working within a team or as an individual to deliver network design services within area of expertise for Nokia mobile networks for 2G, 2.5G or 3G technologies. • Involvement in GPRS / 3G systems architecture / integration projects and competence transfer to the customer and other team members. • Understanding customer’s current, and future, business / service delivery strategies and map to technical solutions and architectures. • Provide project design interface for internal Nokia groups and external partners (including CheckPoint, Cisco, Accenture, LogicaCMG). • Support account teams in developing new business opportunities for network and data-convergence evolution and pre-sales tenders (RFI / RFQ). • Ensure timely provision of all design documentation including; design processes, technical scope, network design principals, high level design, dimensioning, logical and physical network schematics, topology diagrams, detailed design incorporating WAN / LAN routing and switching, QOS, TCP/IP addressing, naming convention, DNS design, packet level message flows and equipment configurations. • Support the development of network planning processes and procedures • Develop internal workshops to facilitate the competence transfer in the team • Participate in the Nokia’s network planning community expert groups and seminars as a contributor • Support the projects in the region remotely and in-country to deliver the project objectives for Network planning • Provide network designs and data fill, in line with project and tender deliverables. • Support for Architecture and Feature Problem Solving • Support for daily technical Questions and Answers regarding Nokia’s mobile network solutions
Requirements
Requirements: • Business focused, IT consultant with experience in systems analysis and design / planning in the mobile environment. • Proven track record in successful delivery of complex development and infrastructure architecture projects, within high-pressure environments. Including GPRS and 3G design projects. • Proven experience in building and managing expert teams of consultants, emphasizing customer focus, responsiveness and value-add. • Technical project management experience, including change control, impact and risk analysis. • Strong technical skills and understanding of corporate IT systems, security, IP networking, Internet, WiFi, GPRS / 3G technologies and ETSI / 3GPP standard specifications. • Quality orientated with excellent communication and problem solving skills. • Ability to work strategically, influence and build strong relationships at all levels. • Presentation skills with experience of presenting solution proposals at both technical and board level, and secure stakeholder support. • Able to develop customer relationships and provide interface for design related activities. • Incorporating Nokia 3G Mobile Packet Core (MPC), Network Enabling Services (NESP), Nokia / CheckPoint Firewall Architecture, Cisco IP / MPLS Backbone • Experience in design processes, methodologies and tools • Complex IP core network design based upon latest Cisco devices and IOS capabilities.
