About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our client’s finance team in a dynamic trading company. This role is ideal for an early-career finance professional looking to develop expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and international business transactions within a fast-paced environment.
The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with financial reporting, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
• Record, reconcile, and maintain accounting transactions and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including account reconciliations, follow-up on outstanding balances, and preparation of Statements of Account (SOA).
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities and the preparation of financial and management reports.
• Communicate with suppliers, customers, and other counterparties regarding financial transactions, account balances, and payment-related matters.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support business and operational decision-making.
• Assist in monitoring cash flow and support the management of local and foreign currency transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and automation of accounting and reporting processes.
What You Bring
• Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within trading, commercial, or international business environments.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices, including working knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
• Experience with foreign exchange (FX) transactions, cross-border payments, and multi-currency accounting is highly desirable.
• Excellent English communication skills are essential for this role, including strong written and verbal business communication.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with experience working effectively in fast-paced environments.
• High attention to detail, strong follow-up skills, and a process-oriented mindset.
