Job Description

- In order that planning and progress measurement are set-up in line with project strategy, you are to: - Be focal point and lead all planning set-up (WBS) to establish the project schedule baseline - Ensure planning and progress measurement set-up reflects contract scope of work, key milestones, client obligations and project requirements. - Develop the detailed schedule taking into consideration project constraints such as resource availability and project execution plan - Communicate the plan to all stakeholders and ensure full commitment. - The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: - Robustness of planning: critical path and schedule analysis definition. - Issue baseline level 3 schedule in accordance with the Project Controls Plan. - Efficient progress measurement systems. - To manage planning and progress measurement activities, you are to: - Define and manage Planning Engineer(s) activities - Interface with all project disciplines. - Analyze (including the use of trending techniques) and comment with respect to, progress measurement, forecast completion dates, float analysis, identify critical and near critical activities. Leading to the anticipation of delay and alert the Project Team and propose corrective actions. - Provide input to project reporting re planning and progress measurement. - Provide leading indicators and trending for schedule performance - Provide ad-hoc analysis (such as Risk management, Claim, Change order, Re-baseline simulations) as required by the Project Team - Perform Schedule Risk Analysis as required. - The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: - Capacity to consolidate and challenge planning forecast updates and recommends corrective actions. - Timely update of planning and progress measurement for project reporting. - In order that planning is closed-out, you are to: - Produce planning close-out per Company procedures - Identify lessons learned - The measure of your effectiveness in this will be: - Submission and distribution of planning close-out report and the contribution to improvement of related processes Main Tasks/Core Competencies: - Uses approved scheduling software to develop CPM (Critical Path Method) Loaded Network (starting with the development of the baseline) for assigned projects with appropriate inputs from project team members. Updates the CPM Network as required on a timely basis to help support appropriate management decisions. Liaises with appropriate project team members to ensure continuity and schedule integrity. - Defines an appropriate WBS to adhere to project requirements. - Set's-up, monitors and reports of the physical progress reporting of engineering, procurement and fabrication activities on assigned project(s). Reports and trend progress as required by project contract utilizing appropriate reporting tools (i.e. curves, tables and customized reports). - Set's-up, monitors and reports the productivity and earned value of the projects to appropriate cost control group and project managers. - Provides critical analysis of engineering, vendor and subcontractor’s schedule and advises on recovery and resolution plans. - Performs Risk Schedule Analysis as required. - Provides Planning support to other departments or entities as needed. - Coaches and provides training and assistance to more junior level planners as needed. - Actively participates and provides input to enhance and improve department functions, work procedures and instructions. - Actively engages in all tasks and duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred. - Experienced professional with at least 7 years relevant experience in Oil and Gas mainly in Refinery Projects Engineering projects in the same position. - Has specialized knowledge of certain processes and has solid, profound experience within a specialized field. - Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) Intermediate to Advanced is required. - Primavera Project Planner 6 (P6) and Microsoft Project – Advanced is required. - Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking). - Very good schedule management technical skills and detailed knowledge of Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project planning software. - Very good communication skills with very strong ability to synthesize multiple data and communicate/translate results and data to interlocutors issued from different disciplines and different expertise. - Ability to work proactively in a challenging environment and to meet deadlines. - Good Knowledge and expertise of refining Projects best practice application for the discipline. - Understands the logic driven activities, recognizes, and reports trends that may lead to deviations in the plan.
