Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Building Materials Category Manager to strategically lead our product portfolio across hardware, faucets, sanitary ware, paint, and parquet categories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving category growth, optimizing product assortment, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring profitability and market competitiveness. This role requires demonstrable prior experience within the building materials sector, specifically with the mentioned product lines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for hardware, faucets, sanitary ware, paint, and parquet, aligning with overall business objectives.
Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned categories, from market research and sourcing to pricing, promotion, and performance evaluation.
Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and consumer trend identification to inform product development and sourcing decisions.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and brands, while nurturing strong, long-term relationships with existing vendors and manufacturers.
Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, discounts, and supply agreements to maximize profitability and secure competitive advantages.
Monitor category sales performance, gross margins, inventory levels, and key performance indicators (KPIs), taking proactive measures to meet targets.
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, procurement, logistics, and technical teams to ensure seamless product launch, promotion, and availability.
Drive product innovation and portfolio diversification, identifying opportunities to introduce new products and expand market share.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines for all products within the categories.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on category performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Category Management, Product Management, or a Senior Commercial role, with a strong focus on the building materials industry.
Demonstrated expertise and in-depth knowledge of product lines such as hardware (e.g., locks, hinges, handles), faucets, sanitary ware, paints, and parquet/flooring solutions.
Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability within managed categories.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills with a strong network within the building materials supply chain.
Superior analytical abilities, capable of interpreting market data, sales figures, and financial reports to make informed decisions.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and a proactive approach to market challenges.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with ERP/CRM systems.
Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
