Job Description

  • Provide AZ with an understanding of the local medical community, clinical practice trends, HCP insight, and real or perceived gaps in current scientific knowledge and medical treatment.
  • Share emerging data with HCPs, discussing all aspects of the data in a scientific, objective, and balanced way.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for information about unapproved AZ products or unapproved uses of approved products, presenting such information in an objective, well-balanced, substantiated manner that is scientific in tone and content, free of promotional messages, truthful, and not misleading.
  • Work with HCPs as partners in scientific activities that help advance disease understanding and are consistent with medical affairs strategy and objectives.
  • Interact in the field with the medical community in the context of various medical projects such as clinical trials, Non-Interventional Studies, Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISSs), and scientific exchange.
  • Identify potential speakers and train speakers as appropriate for local events
  • Provide recommendations for advisory board participants and serve as faculty/facilitators for advisory board meetings.
  • Provide AZ with an update on partnerships with HCPs, as speakers, or in the context of medical projects.
  • Remain abreast of the latest scientific knowledge and developments in defined domains of expertise, including employing participation in structured AZ training programs.
  • Conduct therapeutic area and product training for medical sales representatives.
  • Facilitate continuing medical education events for HCPs.
  • Undertake activities that contribute to the implementation of local Patient Risk Mitigation Plans.
  • Identify HCPs with the scientific expertise to collaborate on forward-thinking medical projects identified in strategic brand planning.
  • Adhere to internal standard processes and comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • MD, or a Pharmacist.
  • Experience as a medical science liaison is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in English skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Advanced presentation skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
