Job Description

Baran Group is looking for an investment manager to lead our Investment and Economic Partnerships Team. Investment managers are responsible for managing the investments of individuals, companies, or other entities. They may work directly with clients to determine their investment goals and develop a plan to help them achieve those goals. They may also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their firm’s investment management division.
In addition to managing client assets, investment managers must also manage their own time and resources. They must stay up to date on current events that could impact their clients’ portfolios (such as political developments, economic trends, etc.), monitor market conditions to ensure they’re making smart decisions at all times, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute investment strategies in accordance with the goals and risk tolerance of the client.
  • Research potential investments and monitor existing holdings to identify opportunities and minimize risk.
  • Create and maintain financial models to forecast short- and long-term performance.
  • Present recommendations to clients, justifying proposed actions with data and analysis.
  • Negotiate on behalf of clients to buy or sell securities.
  • Manage client portfolios, making adjustments as needed to keep them aligned with stated objectives.
  • Monitor economic, political, and social trends that could impact the value of investments.
  • Stay up to date on new products and services offered by brokerages and other financial institutions.
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations that could affect the client’s portfolio.
  • Prepare reports for clients detailing investment activity and performance.
  • Meet with clients regularly to review portfolios and discuss any changes to their goals or risk tolerance.
  • Attend industry conferences and events to network with peers and stay current on trends.

Requirements

  • More than ten years of professional experience in investment management, banking, financial analysis, or related fields.
  • CFA designation or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of successful investments.
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and trends.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or related fields.
  • Fluency in English.
