We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our client, a fast-growing E-commerce company, and lead engineering execution, team development, system scalability, and engineering excellence.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineering leader with strong expertise in backend systems, system architecture, technical strategy, and people management, who is passionate about building high-performing engineering teams and scalable, reliable technology while balancing technical quality with product and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Team Development
• Lead engineering teams and set technical goals, priorities, and execution plans aligned with product and business objectives.
• Own team performance and development, including feedback, performance reviews, career growth, and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
• Lead engineering hiring, talent assessment, and development initiatives.
• Support the team in solving complex technical challenges and contribute to high-level architectural and system design decisions.

Engineering Planning & Delivery
• Plan engineering capacity, allocate resources, and manage priorities to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
• Partner closely with Product and technical leadership to translate business and product goals into engineering roadmaps and execution plans.
• Own the software delivery lifecycle from planning through release and proactively address technical and organizational blockers.
• Track engineering performance metrics and use data to improve quality, productivity, and development processes.

Architecture & Technical Strategy
• Oversee the architecture and evolution of large-scale backend systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Drive key technical decisions while balancing delivery speed, engineering quality, and business priorities.
• Prioritize technical debt and drive continuous investment in system health, maintainability, and long-term reliability.
• Establish and continuously raise engineering standards across architecture, code quality, testing, security, observability, and deployment.

What You Bring
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record in engineering management.
• Proven experience in roles such as Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, or Technical Manager.
• Experience managing and developing multi-level engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing large-scale backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Golang or PHP, with a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
• Strong knowledge of System Design, Microservice Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, NoSQL, Redis, and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of Clean Code, SOLID principles, Design Patterns, Unit Testing, and TDD.
• Experience managing system performance, scalability, reliability, and technical debt.
• Strong engineering planning, prioritization, and team performance management skills.
• Strong coaching, feedback, and engineering talent development skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills across technical and organizational challenges.
• Strong Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills across Product, Engineering, and senior leadership teams.
• Data-driven approach to engineering performance and process improvement.

• Experience with Elasticsearch and other search or data-processing technologies.
