Cargo Operations Expert

Job Description

• Coordinate cargo handling operations, including vessel loading and unloading.
• Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders such as port authorities, shipping agents, and logistics partners.
• Assist in problem-solving for delays, damages, or irregularities.
• Make adjustments to documentation or operational plans based on last-minute cargo changes.
• Communicate cargo nominations to clients as per desk trader requests and ensure that all necessary post-nomination documents are sent promptly to cargo receivers.
• Appoint shipping agents and cargo surveyors at both loading and discharge ports, and manage the settlement of their disbursement accounts.
• Coordinate and analyze port-related costs, including inspection, analysis, and agency fees, to ensure cost efficiency and transparency.
• Follow the claims, such as demurrage, and provide timely feedback and updates to the operations officer for further action.
• Accurately inputting cargo information into internal systems, preparing documentation for customs clearance, and port authority requirements.
• Act as the key liaison between clients, shipping agents, cargo surveying companies, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless cargo operations.
• Record and maintain agent and surveyor evaluation reports in a centralized computerized system.
• Prepare and distribute daily reports on vessel position and operational status.

Required Qualifications:

• Industry-recognized accreditations, commodity trading background.
• A university education in Business Administration, Commerce, or an MBA is required.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a commercial specialist role is a plus.
• Fast Learner and motivated individual with strong soft skills can be considered.

Location: Tehran, district 1.
Working days: Sunday to Thursday (24/7 availability might be needed).
