Job Description

  • To prepare and manage the ITS BI and big data platforms’ budget and strategic, operational plans.
  • To manage the delivery of big data projects (new systems implementations and existing systems enhancements) either as appointed project manager or subject matter expert based on accepted project delivery methodology in addition to operations management.
  • To support and collaborate actively with its project managers to ensure that bi requirements are promptly captured for new/upgraded systems to avoid delay in project completion.
  • To manage cross-functional teams, internal and external to MTNIrancell its department, to ensure all SLM-related PPPs conform to agreed service levels and internationally recognized benchmarks.
  • To functionally and operationally monitor and manage the bi and big data platforms, any other related application performance, and required services, including close monitoring, measuring, adjusting, and reporting.
  • To manage the optimization and integration of data transactions between the big data platform and other databases/bi applications using big data capacity.
  • To monitor overall application performance as well as required services that support business partners as required
  • to establish and develop policies, processes, and procedures to manage the big data environment, related databases, and operating systems.
  • To manage all technical documentation and modification in all bi and big data platforms while managing data management and governance based on PPPs in a timely manner.
  • To develop the semantic layer, metadata, report definitions graphs, and portal interfaces for delivering bi information.
  • To produce ETL (extract - transform - load) design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the bi system.
  • To manage the design, development, implementation, test, and maintenance of data management and data processing on bi platforms and complete data pipeline, including big data storage and processing.
  • To select suitable technologies and negotiate/manage contracts with suppliers accordingly.
  • To prepare, negotiate, and enforce SLAS with internal customers (business units) and suppliers/vendors to ensure timely resolution of problems and issues.
  • To ensure that managed services partners provide aimed services and that the output is in line with agreed SLAs.
  • To ensure that outsourcing partners put the enhancements and changes in line with business requirements and change management process into production.
  • To manage daily queries, incidents, requests, and faults related to the data lake.
  • To manage troubleshooting of bi tools, systems, and software, and performance-tune as required.
  • To manage and analyze user requirements based on findings and design functional specifications for bi-front-end applications.
  • To integrate different outsourcing partners and play the role of a mediator to resolve conflicts among them
  • to manage business analysis functions to translate business requirements into technical requirements and propose big data solutions and optimizations ensuring performance and scalability.
  • To direct and manage the outsourcing partners from whom MTNIrancell has procured the operational services such that they deliver the services as per service level agreements.
  • To manage and control the respective area's business and operation performance indicators.
  • To ensure maximum compliance with IT security and IT service management PPPs while managing troubleshooting procedures.
  • To ensure the most accurate data modeling/predictive models are used for maximum business strategy alignment in data analytics-related services and promote utilization of bi throughout the company by sharing knowledge for adapting self-service capabilities, business insight, and data-driven decision-making approach.
  • To manage the preparation of data definitions and build a meta-data repository, including a business glossary (Terms and KPIs).
  • To manage possible gaps in data processing procedures and drive for betterment via a continuous improvement loop (data process resilience).
  • To overview all big data-related maintenance and housekeeping activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience in its environments, revenue assurance systems, business intelligence, and CDR management systems; with experience in supervising/managing others.
  • Experience working in a medium to large organization and under pressure.
  • Exposure to typical mobile telecommunication applications and processes.
