The 3G Planning engineer delivers high radio planning/radio performance competence and service capability for GSM, GPRS, EDGE & UMTS. Key Tasks: • To help Nokia customers in GSM, GPRS, EDGE and UMTS radio network planning and optimization • To provide technical expertise to support the Nokia system sales. • The senior radio planning engineer gives independently customer presentations and negotiates radio planning services issues • The senior radio planning engineer creates high quality internal or customer-related documentation • The senior radio planning engineer gives advanced external trainings and give presentations in Nokia internal seminars. His/her performance is measured against: • Customer satisfaction on the delivered radio planning services • CAT/Project Manager satisfaction on the required work • Employee satisfaction if he has a team-leader role • Rating of the trainings
Requirements
Technical and Proffesional Skills: • Radio network features and parameter knowledge • Proven experience in network optimisation using network statistics and measurements • In dept knowledge of Nokia network elements and features • In dept knowledge of GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS radio interfaces • In dept knowledge of digital and analog measurement equipment • Efficient use of network planning tools General Requirements: Recommended work experience for this position and number of years): Minimum 4 years experience in mobile communications: experience in coverage and capacity planning for cellular radio networks GSM, GPRS and UMTS experience in detailed roll-out planning experience in network optimisation processes in GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS EDUCATION (recommended level of education/knowledge): Adequate education level is M.Sc, B.Sc in technical sciences, preferably in telecommunications/IT and/or electrical engineering. Additional education by proven set of managerial and soft skills training. You speak and write English fluently. You are supporting the team effort with your responsible and reliable working style. You have an analytical and organised way of solving problems, and are committed to continuous learning. • Good interpersonal skills, excellent team player • Customer support oriented • Creative and problem solving mind-set • Good communication skills
