Job Description

The Technical Expert in Network and Telecommunication is responsible for designing and deploying the telecommunication connectivity among the business units. He is in charge of the network infrastructure high level projects in DC and DRC touch the core network ensure the international standards setup are in place. He manages Telecom Service Providers, Network Suppliers and maintains the network Assets. Main responsibilities (including but not limited to): • Maintain/configure data centers/network infrastructure of the zone. • Ensure and maintain the network and communication standards • Deploy and set up the Network and Telecommunication between the different countries. • Maintain the Network and Telecommunication part of the Disaster Recovery Plan • Ensure the availability of communication between all different locations (Zone, countries, and stores). • Guarantee that the information provided by the systems is accurate, timely and usable. • Ensure the Security of the WAN. • Propose to management evolutions to support the company expansion and integrate the latest technologies. • Monitor and optimize the communications between the different locations. • Stay updated of the latest technology Retail network innovations • Ensure the proper conservation, utilization and profitability of the company’s assets • Respect and enforce the security and safety procedures • Ensure stability of the systems and communications to avoid any downtime in the operations. • Guarantee minimal delay in all recovery procedures in order to minimize the impact on operations. • Develop retail awareness in order to provide results that are in line with the business. • Propose and implement action plans in order to increase productivity, performance and effectiveness of the operations. • Report any action that might interfere with the proper functioning of the company. • Propose the latest technologies and innovation that help the operation. • Implement the Zone network part of the Disaster Recovery including building the Zone Disaster Recovery Centers. • Securing company data • Maintain proper documentation for all relative fields of responsibility. • Guarantee the quality, confidentiality and application and protection of company’s “Know-How” • Respect and enforce the security and safety procedures • Ensure the Periodical tests “Backup line test,…” are done according to the procedures and corrective actions are applied. • Support the new openings by installation/configuration of network. • Support all new IT project in country by installation/configuration of network/ • Provide the role of 3rd level support for HO and stores. • To respond to service incidents within the times specified in any Service Level Agreement (SLA). • To provide telephone, e-mail and remote support to helpdesk team/Country IT, solving their problems and providing procedural documentation as required. • To establish and maintain good working relationships with, colleagues, end-users and other professionals (e.g., suppliers and software developers, helpdesk team). • To test and evaluate new technology.

Requirements

• Maintain professional, impartial and efficient relationships with supplier and partners. • Network Routing & Switching, Network Security, IP-MPLS, VPN, SDA, SDWAN and in Network Designing. In addition, Experienced in Network Monitoring Tools (Nagios, MRTG, Cacti and SolarWinds etc.). • Expertise in analyzing information system needs, evaluating end-user requirements, and troubleshooting for store Network Issues. • Ensure the proper conservation, utilization and profitability of the company’s assets • Propose and implement action plans in order to increase productivity, performance and effectiveness of the operation • Strong problem solving abilities and research skills • Demonstrates full responsibility for accepted tasks and therefore demonstrates a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. • Ensure the business projects delivery is on time and according to the budget. • Practices the company values and guarantees the same is respected and followed by the department team members • CISCO certification in Data & Network Infrastructure is a must (CCNA/CCNP). • Knowledge of Network Security and Internet setup in a must. • Knowledge of Wi-Fi and Wireless Technologies is required. • Knowledge of Video Conference and Multimedia Technologies is required. • Knowledge of Network traffic analysis and QoS/CoS.
