Job Description

• Performs scouting of exploration activities in the region. • Keen understanding of depositional, structural, and geochemical changes • Collecting and integrating data of differing types and scales including, but not limited to, log, seismic, rock property, well performance, and land data to build an understanding of basin history, resource assessment, and develop play analysis. Collect and evaluate regional geological and geophysical data and information. • Applies familiarity with basic and advanced logging tools to conduct basic petro physical analysis • Interpretation of seismic data • Create, generate, manage and present sound, high-quality geologic interpretations and recommendations for new acreage and/or drilling opportunities to senior management. • Coordinate well logging and coring activities with petro physical staff. • Post drill analysis and evaluation. • Supervision of contractors (if necessary). • Mentor to other geoscientists, interns, and technicians.

Requirements

• Master of Sciences (Geology), or equivalent • 5-10 years working experience in the oil industry • Familiar with geomechanics concepts • Must have the ability to think regionally by integrating geological, petrophysical, geochemical, production and other appropriate data to build basin/play models • Working as a Geoscientist / Geologist. • Strong, professional level oral and written communication skills • Identify key milestones and deliverables and work with team to develop a manageable timeline for execution. Proactively monitor projects and keep others informed of progress.
