Job Description

The role will include providing geological insight into relevant aspects of a wide array of reservoirs, from sandstones to carbonates. This will include importing geological, well deviation surveys, well logs (raw and interpreted), interpreted depth maps and well markers into modeling software (Peterl/RMS) to make reliable and robust static models. Furthermore, well planning and geological monitoring and guidance while drilling wells are required as well as real time updating static models. Key Responsibilities: • Initiating reservoir studies and integration of log, core and seismic data while working in close conjunction with geophysicists and reservoir engineers in order to build and update static models and ensure robust dynamic reservoir models that address the reservoir complexity and uncertainty • Produce field reservoir maps over key reservoirs, including gross and net thickness, net to gross, porosity, permeability and water saturation • Determine the hydrocarbon volumes in place with associated uncertainty ranges whilst ensuring that all static subsurface uncertainties identified by other disciplines are properly represented and integrated. The production geoscientist acts the focal point for the volumes in place and is responsible for volumes in place database for the company • To support a timely and proper evaluation and quantification of depth based well data to layer and population of a geological model in an effective manner. To extrapolate this data between wells using the most appropriate deterministic or geostatistical simulation techniques • Supervise comprehensive geological studies to support and improve reservoir characterization, working closely with other geoscientists and engineers • Significant work experience with geological software applications, including Petrel and Roxar-RMS
