Job Description
Objective of the role: Develop new products, Redesign existing products, Perform research and testing on product concepts, Research new product and business ideas to determine their viability. List of responsibilities: - Monitor and test the performance of current materials, - Research new/better materials that can be used for existing products, - Spec out and/or design materials to support the development of new products - Work with different departments to consult on upcoming projects, - Work as part of a team to source and qualify new/alternate raw material suppliers, - Maintain and improve quality, processing efficiency, and production cost of existing compounds and materials, - Investigate manufacturing issues, creating and implementing effective countermeasures. Reporting to: Head of Research Center. Length of Probation Period: 3 months. Working hours: Saturday to Wednesday 8am-5pm. Travel requirements: Four times a month within country.
Requirements
University Qualifications: MSc. in Polymer Engineering or Material Science/Engineering. Nature and length of previous experience: 1 years of experience in a relevant field using various thermoplastics is preferred. Specialist knowledge: - Strong knowledge in thermoplastic compounds and alloys - Knowledge of injection molding and extrusion processes - Material characterization techniques and data interpretation - Knowledge of polymer rheology is a plus - Excellent English language and computer skills. Soft Skills and Personality traits: - Demonstrated skill in being detail-oriented, organizing work, setting priorities and sound decision making. - Strong work and personal ethics. - Deal effectively with company personnel on all levels ranging from production workers to top management. - Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively in a team environment within and outside of the R&D department.
