The position:

As a cost accountant at Novo Nordisk Iran - Tehran, is responsible for analyzing, managing, and maintaining the financial data related to an organization's costs, particularly in manufacturing. This role involves preparing reports, analyzing cost variances, and ensuring compliance with local audit requirements. The Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in financial planning and decision-making by providing accurate and timely cost information.

Other role expectations are as follows:

  • Prepare COGS reports meeting local audit standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, comparing standard and actual manufacturing costs, identifying variances, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Review financial statements monthly, analyzing over/under absorption and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Analyze return on sales against targets, providing insightful commentaries to the finance manager monthly.
  • Ensure reconciliation of key general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers, verify material ledger postings, and coordinate with the tax team for adjustment postings.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a cost accountant.
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in any related field.
  • Self-driven and dedicated, with a strong desire to influence and improve processes, challenging the status quo and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Adept at supporting audits by internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing comprehensive support during year-end close procedures.
  • Full working proficiency in English (oral and written)
