Job Description:
As the VP of Engineering, you will play a crucial role in researching and developing innovative products. You will also be tasked with creating products and overseeing their successful execution throughout the year. By collaborating closely with various teams, you will ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and in line with the user’s needs, maintaining a high level of quality and alignment with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Technical Vision and Strategy:
- Work closely with leadership to define long-term technical vision and strategy aligned with the business goals.
- Drive strategic planning and roadmaps for technology, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
Leadership and Communication:
- Lead a team of engineering managers, architects, and BI developers.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture of innovation, continuous learning, and growth.
- Instil Agile/Lean principles and coach managers in their application.
- Own recruiting, development, performance, and retention of engineering talent.
- Be a credible technical spokesperson with strong communication skills and ensure that projects are aligned with the company’s goals.
- Build trust and influence among cross-functional teams.
- Report on engineering key metrics to executive leadership.
- Provide hands-on mentorship, one-on-one guidance, and support to engineers.
Technical:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Ensure that projects are completed within the set timeframe.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to scope, plan, and deliver initiatives.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance across all engineering projects.
- Ensure engineering enablement aligns with strategic priorities and roadmaps.
- Track milestone delivery through Agile workflows and maintain operational excellence.
Agile Coaching:
- Influence and adapt to new engineering standards and practices.
- Coach engineering managers in Agile principles, practices, and ways to improve their work.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and workflows.
- Oversee Continuous Improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of experimentation and end-to-end ownership.
- Monitor engineering metrics and adjust processes for optimal productivity.
