Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled senior procurement specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies for services and indirect materials to support our organization’s operations. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, negotiation skills, and the ability to drive cost savings while maintaining quality and service levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for services and indirect materials, including but not limited to IT services, marketing services, facilities management, and office supplies.
  • Identify and qualify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts to achieve favourable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, including price, terms, and service level agreements, to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Analyze spending data and develop reports to track savings, supplier performance, and other key metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, with a focus on services and indirect materials.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sourcing strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with supplier management, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or Ariba.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
