Job Description
- Determine and assign all of the project managers and all of the projects resources. - Observe and control the projects quality. - Provide technical and management reports and deliver to Deputy Director of Operations. - Perform software product installation, configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and documentation for virtualization environments. - Recommend, install, configure, and maintain a large distributed Storage Area Network (SAN) and Networked Attached Storage (NAS) environment. Manage, monitor and tune multiple SAN and NAS environments. Responsible for interconnect, replication, synchronization, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery of storage systems. - Ensure highest level of availability, reliability and performance. -Work with customers on projects related to your specialization in order to create supportable solutions that meet customer requirements. - Provide systematic evaluation, recommendation and/or selection of items such as vendors and their products including hardware, software packages, communications products, consulting services, systems integration services, etc. Techniques used include side-by-side weighted assessments, price-performance analyses, cost-benefit analyses, etc. will often be required to participate on a selection committee acting as technical advisor.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in virtualization / SAN - 5+ years experience in a design and or consulting capacity is preferred - 5+ years experience in project management and supervising - Undergraduate degree in a technology-related field is preferred - Certified in technology-related field is preferred - Expert knowledge on VMware ESXi / HP 3PAR / EMC VNX -Strong and proven troubleshooting ability in a large scale, fast-paced operations environment - Effective and personable communication with customers and vendors to achieve desired results
