
Job Description
• Active participation and supervision of geological work in carbonate reservoirs requiring proficiency in core logging, petrography, sequence stratigraphy, interpretation of conceptual depositional models, reservoir characterization and rock-typing with strong modelling skills to contribute to the construction of static geological models within a multi-disciplinary team. • Designing, coordinating and incorporating results from sedimentology, petrographic, petro physical, geochemistry, biostratigraphy/pale ecological and digenetic studies. - See more. • Geological activities maintain and improve field subsurface understanding. Identify the knowledge gap and drive the study to help reducing subsurface uncertainties. • Initiate, coordinate and execute advanced geological/geophysical studies related to the reservoir, to be carried out in-house or externally. • Maintain/build 3D reservoir geological model of the field. Provide input for, and lead where needed, integrated reservoir modelling activities. • Incorporate all new well, geological, geophysical data/information, etc. to improve the understanding of the field and will be accountable for the geophysical data and seismic interpretation. • Provide geological support to the Well and Reservoir management activities for both production well and injection wells. • Responsible for tracking of any geological data/information. • Accountable for geological database and work together with data management team to identify any database issue and the solution. Responsible for all quality control and data management related to field geological data and seismic data. Work with the other geoscientist in the company to ensure quality control and data management of other geological data. • Presentation/engagement of any new geological studies and its outcome to management, partners and government agencies to share/discuss and look for advice for improvement/way forward. • Actively participate in company networks to develop and implement best practices and standards in subsurface geology knowledge and activity. • Responsible for planning of new well from identify well path toward acquisition program. • Provide/write well proposal and follow up operation until the well completion. • Responsible for reviews and assurance of technical work. Coordinate and execute reviews and audits of seismic interpretation and production geological work. • Represent the company in the Qatar geological community. • Coaching of less experienced G&G and other technical professionals. • Super user for Petrel and support the company's G&G community on the application usage.
Requirements
• Prior experience in Carbonate reservoirs. Understand the key carbonate subsurface • 5-15 years of relevant geo-modelling experience • Uncertainties and its impact to the reservoir behavior. • Master in Petrel usage and static reservoir geological modelling. • Skill in project management from project inception. • Strong presentation/communication skills, ability to communicate subsurface technical / geological concepts in easy and understandable terms to non-subsurface staff. • Proficiency with subsurface software applications. • Good overview of exploration, development and production phases. • Skill in well planning and operation geology. • Strong ability to synthesize information and to integrate it into the working project.
