Senior Petrophysicist

Job Description

CAPE is currently seeking candidates for Petrophysical (PP) positions. As part of a fully integrated, multi-discipline subsurface team, the Petrophysicist will work in an environment where geophysical, stratigraphic, petrologic, petrophysical, geomechanical, biostratigraphic and engineering data are fully integrated. We are looking for individuals who have developing skills or expertise in operations, integrated reservoir description, seismic rock properties, or production petrophysics. Typical petrophysical roles include: • Plan, prepare and supervise all petrophysical data acquisition including wireline and MWD/LWD logs, core measurements (conventional and SCAL), formation pressure measurements (including fluid sampling) and production logging • Log Evaluation: Log Data Acquisition, Editing and Interpretation of standard and special log data like NMR/CMR, TDT/RST, pressure tests and cement evaluation • QA/QC procedures for log and core data on operated wells • Management and preservation of petrophysical data • Perform petrophysical interpretation of operated and non-operated well data • The characterization of reservoir flow units by integrating all available core, log and production data • Perform Saturation Height Modeling -- log analysis and core-based methods • Supporting well planning and reservoir completion design • Support contract tendering and contract negotiations • Provide advice on petrophysical service contractors • Document and report petrophysical evaluations and results • In the event of borehole/logging problems, must be able to effectively contribute in decision-making process in modifying the logging program to meet the logging objectives
